WHO message to youth on coronavirus: "You are not invincible"

The head of the World Health Organization has warned that the new coronavirus can severely affect not only senior citizens, but also people aged under 50.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus sent a message to young people at a news conference in Geneva on Friday.

He said young people are not invincible, and that the coronavirus could put them in hospital for weeks, or even kill them.

Tedros also said the Chinese city of Wuhan is giving hope to the world having reported no new coronavirus cases.

Authorities in China said that Wuhan, the epicenter of the pandemic, saw no new cases on Wednesday.

Tedros said, "Wuhan provides hope for the rest of the world that even the most severe situation can be turned around."
