The 59-year-old Oscar-winning actor and the 28-year-old actress tied the knot recently in a private ceremony, the couple’s friend Irena Medavoy revealed on Instagram.
Irena is a philanthropist who is married to legendary movie producer Mike Medavoy. She says that Sean is like “a son” to Mike and she’s “over the moon” that he has found his soul
“We are so happy for @leilageorge #seanpenn getting married. We love you. Thank you for being like family, a son to mike,” Irena wrote on Instagram. “We are over the moon to find your soul mate true partner, [Sean]. true love that also changes the world for better. You are meant to be together. God Bless you both and the family you have joined. Introducing the Penn’s.” On her Instagram Stories, she also shared a photo of what appears to be their wedding rings.
Sean and Leila started dating back in 2016. If you didn’t know, she is the daughter of Law & Order: Criminal Intent star Vincent D’Onofrio.
Leila has acted in movies like 2018′s Mortal Engines and 2019′s The Kid (which was written and directed by her dad), as well as the TV series Animal Kingdom.
