Mo’Nique Explains Why She Feels Betrayed By Oprah Winfrey
Mo'Nique detailed her feud with Oprah Winfrey during a Comedy Hype talk recently.
She explained how her brother Gerald admitted to molesting her before he reached out to Oprah to do a show about child predators to warn parents what to look out for.
Oprah called Mo'Nique to OK the show with her, but despite telling her it wouldn't go ahead if she wasn't OK with it, it did.
The talk-show mogul even had Mo'Nique's mother, father, and her older brother on the show despite not running this past the comedian.
Mo'Nique shared, “We didn’t discuss that, Oprah… I’m watching my father sit there, who was a strong alcoholic. I’m watching him drunk. I’m watching my mother be greedy. I’m watching my other brother, who was my manager, be greedy… I’m watching the scam.”
She said of the feud, "Until that woman says, 'Let me apologize to you publicly,' it’ll be till the day I leave this earth. Because what you did was malicious and it was intentional and it was ugly.
"Oprah Winfrey, you know what you need to do and stop hiding behind what you call negative comments because what people are beginning to do is see you for who you are.”
Mo'Nique even revealed how she confronted Oprah at a party, recalling in the clip: “She took the cowardly way out, she said, ‘If you think I did something wrong then I want to apologize.’ You DID do something wrong, you maliciously [did] and had full intentions of having my parents on your show and not saying anything to me.”
