One of hip-hop's favorite couples, Sean "Diddy" Combs and Cassie Ventura, have reportedly parted ways months ago, according to People.
The stars' reps haven't publicly responded to the news, but a source told the site that their breakup "was amicable and they remain friends." Cassie will "focus on her music and acting career," the insider added.
Diddy and Cassie reportedly first met in the early 2000s, after she signed to his label, Bad Boy Records, People reports. The duo sparked dating rumors in 2007, but they didn't go public with their relationship until 2012. They reportedly went on a "break" in August 2016, but got back together shortly after, according to E! News.
One of the couple's latest joint public appearances was at the Met Gala in May. At the time of writing, Cassie's last Instagram photo with the rapper and hip-hop mogul was from the high-fashion event.
Diddy's last post of Cassie was from August, when shared a video of the singer in honor of her birthday.
Breakup rumors gained traction late this morning after gossip sites started reporting on the split. Love B Scott reported that Cassie's rep confirmed the split, and that Diddy has allegedly started dating a model, but that remains unconfirmed.
Fans don't seem to be handling the news well. Some expressed their grief on Twitter.
