Celebrities You Didn't Know Were Black

Celebrities seem to be keeping more and more to themselves about their personal life. It seems as though the issue of race and/or ethnicity has become a non-issue and as a result it's not asked or mentioned much. Check out our list of celebs that you probably didn't know were Black.

Cash Warren

Jessica Alba's hubby may be used to taking the backseat in the fame department of their relationship, but he's a mini celebrity in his own right. His dad is actor Michael Warren who starred on the series Hills Street Blues.

Daniel Sunjata

This super sexy actor who is most well known for his part in the FX series Rescue Me is usually mistaken for being latino. However, he is half caucasian and half African American and all fine!

Maya Rudolph

Maya has an ambiguous aura when it comes to her race and ethnicity. As the daughter of singer/songwriter Minnie Riperton and music composer Richard Rudolph, Maya has talent running in her genes.

Nicole Richie

Nicole is famously known as the daughter of Lionel Richie, but not by blood line. Nicole's (widely rumored) biological father Peter Michael Escovedo is Afro-Mexican. She also has Creole and Spanish ancestry.

Soledad O'Brien

Don't let the name fool you. The television anchor and correspondent usually hosts a series on CNN titled "Black in America" and we may have an inkling as to why. Soledad's mother is Afro-Cuban and her father is of Australian descent.

Wentworth Miller

The sexy 'Prison Break' star was born in England but his roots don't end there. Wentworth has a mixed heritage that includes African-American, Jamaican, English, German, Jewish and Cherokee background on his father's side and Russian, French, Dutch, Syrian and Lebanese ancestry on his mother's. No wonder he is so handsome and exotic looking.

Rashida Jones

As the daughter of music mogul Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton, it's no surprise that Rashida is as talented as she is. Her parents had a bi-racial relationship and Rashida has been quoted as saying, "It was the 1970's and still not that acceptable for them to be together."

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

This wrestler turned actor is definitely a looker, but to what race or nationality can we credit those genes? His father is of Black Nova Scotian origin while his mother is Samoan. Who would have thought?!

Vin Diesel

The Fast and Furious actor identifies himself as "a person of color" but what does that mean exactly? Vin never met his biological father but his mother is of Scottish, English and German descent and his step-father is African-American.

Rosario Dawson

Rosario's mother is Puerto Rican and Afro-Cuban while her father is of European descent.

Pete Wentz

The Fallout Boy front man (and Ashlee Simpson's baby daddy) is someone that we were almost positive didn't have any African American descent but we stand corrected. Pete has a Jamaican grandfather who is a cousin to General Colin Powell. Didn't see that one coming!

Jessica Szohr

Gossip Girl actress Jessica Szohr shares Hungarian, Caucasian and African American descent.

Adriana Lima

This Victoria's Secret angel is known for her seductively sexy and exotic look. Her African, West Indian, Japanese and Portugese ancestry can't hurt towards that look that we all drool over!

Derek Jeter

The New York Yankees Shortstop has had a slew of girlfriends and admirers over the years. With a Black father and Irish and German mother, the ladies can't get enough of #2.

Kris Humphries
