Celebrities Are Showing Their Love For Meghan Markle By Standing Up For Her After Backlash

The royal family has always been held up to a higher standard than most celebrities, but ever since Meghan Markle became a Duchess, the scrutiny has multiplied. Because her life was on display in Hollywood before royal life, she doesn't fit the "mould" that Royal family fans have. Luckily for Markle and Harry, they have pretty influential friends who are more than willing to come to their defense. After their latest backlash, alongside others, Elton John defended Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. 

The royal couple was recently under scrutiny for their use of private jets on two recent vacations. Paparazzi and critics have called their mode of transportation to both Ibiza and the South of France unethical because it contradicts their cause to end climate change. 

Elton John was quick to come to the couple's defense by saying he is "deeply distressed" over the backlash his friends are receiving. It turns out that Elton John hosted the young family at his home in Nice and offered his private jet to "protect Harry and his family from the unnecessary press intrusion that contributed to Diana’s untimely death." 

He ended off his Twitter statements with the reveal that to ensure the private flight was in line with the couple's beliefs he made sure it was carbon neutral by donating to the Carbon Footprint foundation.

Elton John isn't the only celeb who came to Markle's and Harry's rescue, it seems like all of Hollywood had something to say to the royal couple's critics. 

Ellen DeGeneres wrote a testimony to how "down-to-earth" and "compassionate" the couple is and confirmed their passion to "make the world better."

Pop star Pink, who has also had to combat cruel media backlash in the past, also defended the royal couple on Twitter saying,

"I’m happy to see people coming to the defense of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The way people treat her is the most public form of bullying I have seen in a while. It’s out of control. Let’s all be a bit kinder, huh? Let’s show our children that it’s cool to be kind."

This isn't the first time the royal couple has been under fire and it unfortunately won't be the last, but it's good to know they have a strong support system behind them!
